At the Intersection of Psychotherapy Research and Clinical Practice
To the Editor:
David Glenn's "Nightmare Scenarios" (October 24) portrays two opposing nightmares: On one side are the therapy police, who are scientistically micromanaging the clinical practice of psychotherapy, and on the other side are poorly informed clinicians, who are foisting pseudoscientific witchcraft on a gullible public.
In our view, the real nightmare is the unnecessary fragmenting of clinical psychology, and the polarization of research scientists and clinical
