At Wellesley, Clinton Stumps for Student Support

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to her alma mater today to announce the formation of “Hillblazers,“ a national coalition of campus groups that will work to organize young voters.

On her first trip to Wellesley College as a presidential candidate, Ms. Clinton appealed to students to help her win the Democratic nomination, recalling her days as a student stuffing envelopes and walking precincts for Eugene McCarthy’s 1968 presidential campaign. She is vying, particularly with Sen. Barack Obama, for support from younger voters.

The senator from New York took time to reminisce about her days at the women’s college, The Boston Globe reports. Wellesley, she said, prepared her to “compete in the all boys’ club of presidential politics.” Ms. Clinton’s campaign has accused her rivals of piling on during a debate on Tuesday night.
