At Their Annual Meeting, Historians Debate Nationalism, Torture, and Academic Freedom
The 120th annual meeting of the American Historical Association, held here this month, drew 5,664 historians, students, and exhibitors to panels, meetings, and job interviews. The number of attendees at this year's meeting was the largest in the past 25 years, and it represents a sharp increase over last year's meeting in Seattle, which drew fewer than 4,000 people.
