At Site of Revolution, International Leaders Ponder Higher Ed’s Future
The Hôtel de Ville here is well known as a place where revolutionary thoughts ferment. An angry mob gathered in its plaza shortly after storming the Bastille prison, in 1789, the start of the French Revolution.
On Thursday the famous building played host to a less-agitated group, but one focused on how higher education around the world is experiencing a transformation, if not a revolution, of its own.
