At Admissions Conference, Talk of Standardized Tests Dominates
For three days last month, tests were the talk of this town. Over cocktails and crabs, admissions deans and high-school counselors discussed the controversial exams that have become synonymous with selective college admissions.
At the annual conference of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, attendees discussed plenty of issues — rankings, how to make deposit deadlines more fair for students, and the outlook for this year's admissions cycle.
