Association of University Professors Calls for Reform in College Sports
The American Association of University Professors this month urged faculty members across the country to get involved in cleaning up college sports.
In a strongly worded report published in Academe, its bimonthly magazine, the group called on professors to make sure athletes do not receive improper benefits in admissions, financial aid, or course work.
The association's proposals reflect concerns expressed by other faculty groups. Some resemble calls, issued by faculty senates
