Association Supports Accrediting Agency

To the Editor: The May 6 issue of The Chronicle contained an article entitled "Teacher-Education Programs Debate the Need for Accrediting Agency's Stamp of Approval," in which several recent events were characterized as challenges to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is a constituent member of NCATE, representing the teacher-education institutions that participate in the accreditation-review process.
