As the Professoriate Ages, Will Colleges Face More Legal Landmines?
Last summer marked the 15th anniversary of when Title I of the Americans With Disabilities Act took effect, and throughout that time, colleges have been wrestling with how and to what extent they must accommodate their employees with disabilities. Today, especially as the average age of faculty members continues to rise, institutions are seeing an increasing number of requests from faculty members who claim to have a disability and who require an accommodation in order to do their jobs. Such
