Arts and Humanities Get Small Increases
The two national endowments would receive increased funds in the 2008 fiscal year under the budget submitted to Congress by President Bush. The National Endowment for the Humanities would receive $141.4-million, and the National Endowment for the Arts would receive $128.4-million.
The humanities endowment's gain would be just 0.3 percent over what the agency received in 2006, but the arts endowment would see a 3-percent increase. Both agencies are operating this year under budgets
