Art-Appreciation Course Is Geared for Engineers
"Light and the Arts: A Quantitative Approach," University of South Florida
Arthur David Snider, a professor emeritus of engineering, created this course for a group of students that usually avoids courses in art history or appreciation: engineering majors.
Because of his unpleasant experiences with art-history courses as an undergraduate student, Mr. Snider says he decided to create "a course where an engineering student has the advantage."
