Arizona State U. Plans for 61% More Students
Arizona State University intends to grow by 61 percent, to 92,000 students, and to become a nationally recognized research institution by 2020, according to a plan announced this month.
The plan outlines sweeping changes that include adding a campus in downtown Phoenix, assigning academic specialties to each campus, and encouraging schools within the university to compete nationally rather than with Arizona's other state universities.
