Appropriations Deal Will Increase Federal Spending on Pell Grants and the NIH
After months of negotiations, Congressional Republicans and the Clinton Administration struck a deal last week on a budget bill that would raise the maximum Pell Grant to $3,300 and increase funds for the National Institutes of Health by 15 per cent in fiscal 2000.
