Antioch U. Board Confirms Decision to Shutter College, But Rescue Plans Continue
Not Giving Up
Antioch College will close after all, the Antioch University Board of Trustees ruled on Friday. The decision confirms the board's original plan, announced last June, to suspend operations at the 155-year-old campus for the 2008-9 academic year.
Alumni had hoped to keep the college open. A key sticking point in their continuing negotiations with the trustees was their demand that the college become a freestanding liberal-arts institution that would be independent of the Antioch
