Anti-Semitism in Academe
To the Editor:
As reported in The Chronicle, at the Hillel summit, some see a "golden age" for Jews on campuses, not an era of anti-Semitism (Notebook, June 2). I strongly disagree.
It is true that when I went to college in the 1950s, a quota existed, restricting the number of Jewish students at many American universities. Now, by U.S. law, no quota exists, and Jewish students and faculty members are present in academe at a proportion that exceeds their representation as
