Animal-Rights Bill Subject of Hearing
Animal-rights activists who harass scientists and disrupt research could be classified as terrorists under legislation discussed at a hearing last week before a subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
The legislation, known as the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (HR 4239), would also make property damage, including the loss of animals or records, as well as conspiracy against scientists, prosecutable under federal law.
