Animal Research Criticized at NIH
The National Institutes of Health supports many projects involving animal research that duplicate other projects and amount to a "waste" of money, an animal-rights group charges in a new report.
Stop Animal Exploitation Now, based in Cincinnati, released the report last week.
The organization examined an NIH database -- Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects -- that compiles information on all federally financed biomedical-research projects at the NIH
