Anger Management

Imagine a third-tier-university classroom. Fifty white students are crowded into a too-tight circle. Five black men sit in the front. A dreadlocked and African-robed administrator leans comfortably against the desk at the base of the chalkboard. The teacher — me, white — sits in the back of the room, squeezed in with the students, becoming one of them, taking notes.
