An Unusual Town-Gown Dispute
To the Editor:
As the senior member of the Wells College faculty, a longtime village resident, and a supporter of the Aurora Coalition, I commend The Chronicle's coverage of our unusual town-gown dispute ("A Small College Divides Its Village With Unusual Attempt to Revive It," February 1). However, the fundamental cause of the controversy is not differing taste, resistance to change, or financial exigency. There is an underlying legal issue that was not explored in your article.
