An Islamic University in Cape Town Grows From Roots in East Asia
The International Peace University South Africa shows how hard it is to pigeonhole Islamic higher education in Africa.
The university resulted from the merger of two local madrassas, or religious colleges, yet seeks to prepare its students for success in the secular world. And its Islamic roots are not in the Middle East, but in East Asia.
