An Imbalance in California's Budget

The article "California Governor Seeks Deep Budget Cuts and Doubling of Tuition at Community Colleges" (January 24) did not place these cuts in the broader context of higher-education funding as a whole. Gov. Gray Davis's proposal to reduce community-college budgets is accompanied by proposals to increase the funding for the California State University and the University of California.
