An Error in a Study of State Aid to Colleges

To the Editor:

In an article on the new report on higher-education finance from the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems ("Is State College Aid Unrelated to Quality?" The Chronicle, January 27), you noted that the report suggests which states are most efficient based on financing levels. ...

I would like to point out that there is an egregious error in the report that affects several states, as well as comparisons with those states. States that offer
