An Environmental-Science Course Ditches Textbooks
Eric Pallant believes the most environmentally-sound way to teach environmental science is to get rid of the textbooks.
This past academic year Mr. Pallant, an environmental-science professor at Allegheny College, in Pennsylvania, ditched the textbook for one of his courses and put together a collection of Web resources for his students. He does not want to go back — and he might even do away with books for other courses.
