An Environmental Rallying Cry
Maryland's governor, Parris N. Glendening, is urging college students to unite, rise up, and champion environmental causes.
"We are on the cusp of the next unifying, mobilizing movement on our campuses," he said at a meeting of college officials last week in Queenstown, Md. "Young people on campus owe it to themselves and to future generations to demand that we be better stewards of the earth." The meeting focused on how colleges could help advance the public good.
