An Engineering Lab That Can Entertain
Eduardo D. Glandt had just a few simple requests when he asked Tod Williams and Billie Tsien to design a new lab building for the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Mr. Glandt, the school's dean, needed a building five times as large as the one being demolished to make room for it. The new structure also would have to solve a number of circulation problems within the university's engineering complex — for starters, connecting two much
