I would like to contest an aspect of Richard Monastersky's interesting "Society Disowns Paper Attacking Darwinism" (The Chronicle, September 24). ...
Mr. Monastersky's story suggests that the Biological Society of Washington's council criticized the publication of the article mainly because it addressed a topic that lies beyond the scope of the journal. Yet the inside page of the journal tells contributors that the journal "contains papers bearing on systematics
