Among Students, One Lawsuit but Little Fallout for Signers of Ad
Kyle Dowd says his political-science professor at Duke University failed him last spring because he played lacrosse.
The senior managed to graduate on time, but last month he and his parents sued Duke and the professor, Kim F. Curtis.
Ms. Curtis, a visiting assistant professor of political science, taught "Politics and Literature" to about 40 students at Duke, including Mr. Dowd and one other player on the men's lacrosse team. They were the only two who failed the course,
