Amish Agency; The Bones Will Tell?; The Church and Modernity
"We don't need any more books on the Amish," the elder said to the professor. That, recalls Donald B. Kraybill, was the grumble he heard one October morning in 2003. The 7 a.m. phone call came after a newspaper reported on a lecture the day before in which Kraybill had discussed forthcoming research. "We don't want our way of life exposed any more," the Amish man continued. "We shun publicity."
