Amid National Boom in Enrollments, Some Liberal-Arts Colleges See Declines
Even modest dips can have severe consequences for campuses
When David L. Lesesne became the University of the South's dean of admissions in July, he hoped to have time to settle into his new office, maybe pick out some curtains.
Instead, he quickly developed a major headache.
Following a modest dip in applications, the university suffered a sharp drop in yield.
