American U. Retains Interim as President
American University's governing board has named as president Cornelius M. Kerwin, the university's former provost, who has held the position on an interim basis for almost two years. Mr. Kerwin received a standing ovation when the board announced his hiring at a recent briefing of students and faculty and staff members.
"It was one of those things you'll never forget," Mr. Kerwin said.
