Douglas Johnson, an American professor of English at a university in the West Bank, was released by his Palestinian captors on Tuesday, hours after he was abducted, the Associated Press is reporting. Mr. Johnson, who teaches at the Arab American University, was seized along with other foreign workers in retaliation for an Israeli raid on a prison in Jericho (The Chronicle, March 14).
