Alumni Gifts to Harvard
To the Editor:
Perhaps because Harvard University's endowment dwarfs those of other institutions ("Endowments Grow at Harvard, Stanford," The Chronicle, September 29), alumni participation in giving to Harvard declined last year. The only bright spot involved our 25th reunion class, which achieved the highest-ever participation rate (over 75 percent), as well as a record amount of giving ($41-million).
