Almost Like Science

For my faculty-job applications, I needed a five-year research plan. I wrote it in two weeks.

Of course, I had procrastinated. For months I had put it off: I had cells to culture and color graphs to print. My boss was running the lab at full throttle. He already had his paper half written. He needed data from you and you and you. Any questions?
