An Alabama prosecutor said today that the first two people had been arrested in connection with alleged student-aid fraud at Bishop State Community College, the Associated Press reported, and the prosecutor promised that more arrests would follow. Meanwhile, the college’s beleaguered president said it would be “premature” for her to resign. The college has also drawn the attention of the U.S. Education Department (The Chronicle, September 5).
