All Applications DOA in College's Nursing Program

State regulators have barred Massachusetts Bay Community College, a Boston-area institution, from admitting new students to its nursing program.

In a letter to the college, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing cited “grave concerns” that the program lacked a dean, a nursing-program administrator, and several needed instructors, according to today’s Boston Globe.

The letter also alleged that the college’s provost, Steve Berrien, had tampered with grades to improperly move a student through the nursing program. Mr. Berrien disputed that charge, according to the Globe. —Elyse Ashburn
