Algal Blooms Tied to Sea-Lion Deaths
Researchers have shown for the first time that marine mammals can die as a direct consequence of toxic blooms of algae. What's more, they found that a commonly used monitor for toxicity failed to warn that toxin levels in the food chain could harm marine life, and possibly human beings.
