Alabama Fires Chief of 2-Year Colleges
The Alabama State Board of Education has fired Roy W. Johnson, chancellor of the state's two-year-college system, because of concerns about possible nepotism, whether he was being candid with the board, and his ability to lead during an investigation of corruption within the college system.
The board voted unanimously last week to remove Mr. Johnson from his post, placing him on paid administrative leave for eight months and firing him at the end of that time.
