Alabama A&M Seeks Leader's Ouster

The Board of Trustees of Alabama A&M University has given the institution's president 30 days to negotiate his departure.

Announcing its decision this month, the board voiced optimism that John T. Gibson, who has led the university since 1996, would be able to reach an agreement with trustees. If no agreement is reached between the two, the board would schedule a vote "on the issue of President Gibson's continued stay at the university."
