Al-Arian to Be Deported in Deal With Prosecutors
Sami Al-Arian, the former University of South Florida professor whose trial on terrorism charges ended with a partial acquittal last year, has reached a deal with federal prosecutors under which he will be deported after pleading guilty to aiding a terrorist organization.
In December a federal jury found Mr. Al-Arian not guilty on eight counts of engaging in terrorism-related activities and deadlocked on nine other counts. The former professor had been accused of involvement with
