Aid Program for District of Columbia Students Is Expanded Nationwide
A new federal aid program for District of Columbia high-school graduates is being significantly expanded, so that this fall they will be able to pay cheaper, in-state tuition rates at any public college in the United States.
Washington's mayor, Anthony A. Williams, formally announced the change last week. The federal aid had been limited to public colleges in Maryland and Virginia.
The shift in policy came after a mayoral staff member concluded that there weren't enough slots
