Agricultural Research Needs More Money
To the Editor:
As chair of the national association of more than 75 directors of state-agricultural-experiment stations (associated with the 1862 and 1890 land-grant universities), I wish to reply to Ron Southwick's article, "Is an Agricultural-Research Effort Dying on the Vine?" (August 18). My fellow directors and I administer the research funding received from the federal government in support of our agricultural, natural, and human-resource programs.
