On Veterans Day in 2010, student military veterans and ROTC members led the first of planned weekly flag raisings at Columbia U.
Victoria Migdal, a cadet at Harvard University, is something of a novelty on her campus of 6,600 undergraduates.
Forty years ago, hundreds of cadets strode the paths of Harvard Yard. Today Ms. Migdal, a junior majoring in neurobiology, is one of only four undergraduates in Army ROTC, and one of 19 across the services.
