Affirmative Action Is Poor Public Policy

The Supreme Court recently heard arguments in two cases involving ethnic and racial preferences in admissions at the University of Michigan, with a decision expected in late June or early July. In a court long divided by 5-4 votes on many of its most important decisions, the outcome of these cases is anyone's guess.
