Advisory Panel on Human-Subjects Research Gets a Patient Advocate
The Bush administration has quickly added a patient advocate to an advisory committee on human-subjects protection, after getting flak for not having put any on the panel.
Susan Weiner, president and founder of Children's Cause, a nonprofit group dedicated to improving access to care for children with cancer, was appointed this month by Tommy G. Thompson, secretary of health and human services, to his Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection.
