Advanced-Placement Test Scores Drop Slightly, Report Says
More high-school students are taking Advanced Placement examinations than in the past, but the percentage of those who pass the tests has dropped slightly, according to a report released last week by the College Board.
The board, which administers AP tests in 35 subjects, also found that some minority groups are still significantly underrepresented in AP classes.
Over all, the proportion of high-school graduates taking AP exams jumped to 23 percent in 2005, up from 15.9 percent
