Legacy-admissions policies amount to affirmative action on the basis of having at least one parent who graduated from college ("New Pressure Put on Colleges to End Legacies in Admissions," January 30). If public universities insist on keeping such policies in place, then they must also institute policies that give special consideration to students whose parents do not hold college degrees. ...
