Admissions Group Seconds Testing Commission's Call for Change
The National Association for College Admission Counseling has asked the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to reconsider the use of cutoff scores in determining eligibility for merit awards.
In letters to the two organizations in January, the association’s top executives proposed creating a process that would “mitigate the effects of using a single PSAT score as the first consideration for National Merit Scholarship recognition.”
