Admissions Dean at U. of Pennsylvania Quits Abruptly

The University of Pennsylvania’s longtime dean of admissions, Lee Stetson, resigned abruptly this week, according to The Daily Pennsylvanian, the university’s student newspaper.

The university offered no comment or explanation for the departure, which came after Mr. Stetson had overseen admissions at Penn for three decades. Mr. Stetson had earlier planned to retire next June. In a statement to the newspaper, he said: “I now recognize that it is in the university’s and my own best interest to step down immediately, before the commencement of the fall semester.” —Lawrence Biemiller
