Adelphi President 'Jumps Ship'

To the Editor:

"With Backing of Governor and Mayor, Adelphi President Tapped to Lead CUNY" (July 30) leaves one with a sense of pathos. Matthew Goldstein's eager willingness to jump ship at Adelphi University to become CUNY's next chancellor raises certain ethical questions. Where is his sense of loyalty and commitment to the institution that recruited him just one year ago? He willingly came to a university that was deeply troubled and in a chaotic condition
