Additional Research Funds for NASA Thrown in Doubt
Republicans in the House of Representatives said at a hearing last week that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration may not get additional money in the 2001 fiscal year, continuing a streak of several years without a significant increase and raising the possibility that NASA will have to limit its plans to increase spending on university research.
President Clinton had proposed raising NASA's budget to $14-billion, a 3-percent ($435-million)
