Activists Charged With Setting Fire

The U.S. Justice Department has indicted two people linked to the Earth Liberation Front, a radical environmental group, on charges that they conspired to set fire to a horticultural-research building at the University of Washington.

The fire, on May 21, 2001, destroyed laboratories, classrooms, and more than 20 years' worth of work and records of some professors and researchers at the university's Center for Urban Horticulture. The building was unoccupied at the time, and no one was
